To beg, go to Corner 7/11. Begging costs 10T. Amount of money you gain depends on you INTelligence skill, begging skill, level and random number generator.
Everyone starts as level 0 beggar. These levels are different from level of player. They affect how much experience you get from begging. You gain experience only on begging level 1 and higher; you must be alive while begging to gain experience.

As you can see, relative experience gains are lower for higher hobo levels. A while back, on some level maybe around 73 with begging level 3, I got 1/169 experience for 10T, now on level 82 I get 1/176 of experience needed to level up.

There are many different ways to go about begging and becoming a beggar. The first thing I did was beg for some money to buy a decent weapon/armor. After that I begged for money to buy sluts to get my to lvl 15 because cart races are a great source of income. At 15 I stated all of my stats to 200 so that I could beat sluts with higher lvls; then got to lvl 25 as fast as possible. Once at the Uni, I trained straight Intel. (Took less than a month to get 1000 Intel… Man, I'm a nerd…) From that point I've just been begging for money to buy sluts so that I can get as high of a lvl as possible because lvl is factored into the amount of money you make per beg.
That's the direction that I've been going in and it's working for me so far.
(And as a fail safe, if you get to a point where you don't want to beg anymore and you're at lvl 55+ with 1000 intel; you'll get .55+ on a stat gain easily.)
